Legal Manager

Roles and Responsibilities

Job Description:

• Assist in managing the day-to-day delivery of legal services and provide support to projects across the business.
• Review and assist the business with the drafting and negotiation of commercial agreements.
• Review correspondence, marketing material or other collateral from a legal perspective.
• Assist with formulation of pro-forma templates for the needs of the business and the maintenance of relevant legal and contract management policies.
• Assist in proceeding the legal matters in customer service cases, legal metrology cases and other legal cases.
• Provide quality legal services and proactively managing legal risk. Provide insights, training and awareness on regulatory/legislative impacts.
• Have a decent knowledge of Indian Accounting Standards and have experience in dealing with Government or regulators’ surprise raid (such as GST Raid or Income Tax Raid).
• Work on legal matters and projects as requested by the Legal Counsel or members of the leadership team.

Qualification:

• Ideally 5+ years practice experience as an In-house Legal Counsel experience in a business environment.
• Law educational background (at least LLB diploma) and Indian Bar holder, Candidates with overseas study background or working experience will be preferred.
• Have the ability to draft initial or alternative contract language and effectively negotiate modifications to standard contractual provisions
• Have a comprehensive understanding of India Taxation law (including Income Tax/GST/PF/ESIC), Labour Law and RBI Regulation.
• Have the ability to communicate effectively and professionally with all levels of staff and management, and, as needed with client leadership and personnel
• Demonstrated experience across the consumer electronics industry will be preferred.
• Candidate should writing e-mails, holding discussions and reading documentation to a business fluent level, with a language specific to the industry
